Online – Sunday Night Live – Self Care (Niyama)

Weekly online yoga class with Lucy Maresh. Practices are chosen to be accessible for beginners and experienced practitioners alike. The focus is on yoga techniques for relaxation and efficient breathing.

Sunday evening classes will continue throughout June on the theme of Niyama and are supported by a weekly newsletter containing video and audio resources and inspiration to create your own ‘space to be’ each and every day at home.

Honesty box payment policy. This class is my small offering to a world under great stress, and I hope it might reach the right people in the right places without money being an issue.


The five Niyama are found in the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali (chapter 2, verse 32).

Along with the five Yama (chapter 2 verse 30), Niyama are often interpreted as the boring and morally virtuous aspect of yoga – a bit like the ten commandments of yoga.

However, seen as a yogic model of self-care, the Niyama turn into five practical tips for an easier life. The original self care and self help text perhaps!

1. Cleanliness
2. Contentment
3. Discipline
4. Self-study
5. Surrender

The classes will take place on Sundays 7, 14, 21 and 28 June.
