COVID-19 Update

While physical distancing is required to prevent the spread of COVID-19 we are unable to hold yoga courses here at A Space to Be.

Lucy is offering a courses online and at Shilbottle Community Hall instead and a monthly email with some online resources.

Individual tuition and small, private classes are still available on site.

Four Week Yoga Courses – Autumn 2020

  • Thursdays 9.30-11.00 (ONLINE, start dates 10 Sep, 15 Oct, 19 Nov)
  • Fridays 9.30-11.00 (SHILBOTTLE HALL, start dates 11 Sep, 16 Oct, 20 Nov)
  • Saturdays 9.30-11.00 (ONLINE, start dates 12 Sep, 17 Oct, 21 Nov)

The theme for September is ‘Doing and Being’ – finding balance between action and reflection in our practice and our lives.

Courses are £30 for four classes. Individual classes are £10, subject to availability. All courses are limited to 15 participants.

Yoga with Lucy Maresh

Lucy’s yoga method prioritises breathing, and movements which are coordinated with the breath.

Classes begin with a short period of rest, feeling into the body and becoming aware of the natural breath. A typical class will then include flowing sequences, some restorative poses and relaxation, finishing with breathing practices and/or meditation. The classes are non-competitive and open to all ages and abilities.

Termly courses tend to follow a philosophical theme.

Lucy teaches yoga in the spirit of ‘the viniyoga of yoga’, an approach to the specific application of yoga for individuals developed by TKV Desikachar. She brings to this a particular interest in restorative yoga (as developed from BKS Iyengar by Judith Hanson Lasater) and in yoga for women.
