Yoga with Lucy Maresh
Lucy’s yoga practice prioritises breathing, and movements which are coordinated with the breath.
Lucy teaches yoga in the spirit of ‘the viniyoga of yoga’, an approach to the specific application of yoga for individuals developed by TKV Desikachar. She brings to this a particular interest in restorative yoga (as developed from BKS Iyengar by Judith Hanson Lasater) and in yoga for women.
Classes begin with a short period of rest, feeling into the body and becoming aware of the natural breath. A typical class will then include flowing sequences, some restorative poses and relaxation, finishing with breathing practices and/or meditation. The classes are non-competitive and open to all ages and abilities. Termly courses tend to follow a philosophical theme.
COVID-19 Update January 2021
While physical distancing is required to prevent the spread of COVID-19 we are unable to hold group yoga courses here at A Space to Be. Lucy is teaching online via zoom and at Shilbottle Hall when restrictions allow. Private classes are available on site in tiers 1-3, for individuals or households.
Please subscribe to Lucy’s monthly email if you would like to receive updates, invitations and online resources.
Online Yoga Courses – Spring 2021
These classes take place on zoom and are best suited to those with some yoga experience already. Classes are delivered with a combination of video and audio instruction – you will be able to close your eyes and take a welcome break from your screen.
Both classes follow the same theme and include asana, pranayama, relaxation and meditation. Saturday’s class offers more physical challenge. If in doubt, please get in touch.
Each four week course is £30 and includes one or two recorded practices per block. There is no additional charge to attend both classes but please choose just one as your main class when you book.
