Friday’s class is a Restorative Yoga session. Occasionally the classes will also include some basic yoga practices for joint mobility and postural awareness but the focus of the class is on deep relaxation in a variety of supported poses.
Restorative Yoga is a restful way of practising, using props. As the body rests in the restorative postures, the nervous system switches to calmness and a deep inner healing mode. It is a Yoga of ‘Being’, rather than a Yoga of ‘Doing’.
The class is suitable for absolutely anybody and is especially helpful at times of recovery or recuperation.
