Thai Yoga Massage is described by some as ‘lazy person’s yoga’. Acupressure massage is given combined with the beautiful stretches of yoga in a spirit of ‘loving kindness’ (metta).
The video below shows a typical 90 minute treatment. The stretches used and intensity with which they are applied varies according to each client so Thai Yoga Massage is suitable for all ages and body types and can be modified for pregnancy.
Lucy trained in Thai Massage initially in 2007 with the wonderful Dympna O’Brien at Quantum Metta school of massage in London. Towards the end of 2011 our whole family spent three months in Chiang Mai, Thailand to deepen our knowledge. Our main achievement was to both graduate from the internationally renowned “Old Medicine Hospital”, an important centre for Traditional Thai Medicine. After 1 month of intensive study at the Old Medicine Hospital, Lucy undertook further training with two Thai Massage “masters” (Pichest Boonthumme and Lek Chaiya). She also worked as an assistant at a new training centre called ‘SVG’, where we were also asked to be the models for their new textbook!
