Our end of year appeal raised £509 to support refugees in Calais who are fleeing terror and persecution in their home countries.
At this time of year I am always reminded that to take refuge and sanctuary in my yoga practice is in fact a privilege that comes from having a safe place to live and work, food on the table and people who care for me. It is on this foundation that my practice is built.
Those who are lacking these basic building blocks of life are in need of so much more than a yoga or meditation practice – let’s start with shoes, warm coats, a safe place to sleep and people to help and guide them towards a more stable future.
I was so heartened by the support from this community for my Solstice Stillness online class and Solstice Labyrinth walk.
In case you missed it, you will now find the recording of the ‘Solstice Stillness’ practice within the Being in the Cycles section of our Home Practice Resources.
I think you will find it nourishing and grounding at any time of year, and a path back home to the sanctuary of your own heart.
We are no longer collecting donations but you can of course donate directly via the Care4Calais website.
