I am extremely grateful to everybody who joined me live yesterday evening for “Moving Into Stillness”. The recording is now available here.
After teaching, I sat down to watch Her Majesty the Queen’s address – I was very curious to hear what she might say, and was so heartened that along with all the expected messages about British resolve, staying at home and thanking all our frontline workers, Queen Elizabeth herself gave the following message:
“And though self-isolating may at times be hard, many people of all faiths and none are discovering that it presents an opportunity to slow down, pause and reflect in prayer or meditation.”
I am not particularly a monarchist, but I have to say I found The Queen’s presence and composure most impressive and reassuring. If you missed it, you can find her here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-52176222
Whether we are outside on frontline duties, home safe but isolated, or cooped up with babies and children, may we all make time to slow down and pause today.
