A Space to Be, Separate Together Retreat

Make a Nest

Yesterday Henry and I lay down our bones in our fabulous new office. I wanted to show you that you don’t need a yoga studio, or even a yoga mat, to practice relaxation.

I am inviting you to join me in committing to a personal discipline of twenty minutes TOTAL RELAXATION each and every day, for your wellbeing and for the wellbeing of those around you.

I went to capslock because this is not just about pausing for a cuppa or watching your favourite TV show, it’s a total stop which will re-set your nervous system and massively boost your immune system.

Rest Day 2We both enjoyed this ‘feet-up’ savasana by lying on our rug, feet up on chairs, and regular cushions behind our heads. Henry added a folded blanket under his head for a bit of extra support. I like a little weight on my belly and wrapping up my feet (and was totally thrilled when Treacle decided to sit on them too!

For modern adults, conscious rest is a personal discipline. Today your challenge is to gather some every day items from your home and create a nest.

The more appealing you make your nest, the easier this daily discipline will be.
Can you gather together:
– a mat, rug, or folded duvet to lie on
– a collection of cushions or pillows, various sizes (3-4)
– a collection of blankets or large bath towels (3-4)
– a pair of warm socks
– a light scarf, pillow case or eye cover of some sort
– objects to personalise your nest like candles, photos, scents, things from nature
Please feel welcome to send me a picture of your nest (with or without you in it) so I may share with everyone who is participating in this little ‘Separate Together’ Retreat (42 by email and many more on social media).
