Saturday 21 March – Hemispheres

A labyrinth walking event for the Spring Equinox

Saturday 21 March 10.30-11.30am at Warkworth Beach (Northumberland)

Spring Equinox

Spring Equinox happens half way between the Winter and Summer Solstices (the shortest day and the longest day). For a few days around this astronomical event we have even hours of daylight and darkness.

For most of the year, the Earth’s axis is tilted either toward or away from the sun. That means the sun’s warmth and light fall unequally on the northern and southern halves of the planet. During the equinox, the Earth’s axis and its orbit line up so that both hemispheres get an equal amount of sunlight.

Hemispheres

Our brain also has hemispheres, right and left, and this special labyrinth walking event has been designed to bring a sense of balance (or light) to both sides evenly. There will be two labyrinths for you to walk in – one which curves to left and one which curves to the right.

Each of us will walk with a partner, mirroring their movements in the opposite labyrinth – it is both calming and connecting! The video below will give you a sense of how this works.

This is a free event but registration is required so we can send you the location and any let you know if anything changes last minute.

Please note that if it is your first time using our new booking system you will have to register for a new account and password. It only takes a couple of minutes but if you run into problems please contact us.
