January 10, 2021 Lucy Maresh

I never really went back to ‘normal yoga’ (whatever that means) because in a blinding flash of the obvious I discovered something exciting about my body in the process of having a baby – it’s FEMALE!

A wonderful find. I stayed here as part of a residential yoga retreat. Would highly recommend it. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. Very friendly hosts. And the Yoga was wonderful. Lucy is clearly extremely experienced and knowledgeable and takes time to understand each individuals needs. I came away feeling relaxed and restored. Some of our events are offered on an 'honesty box' basis and you may be wondering what that means.
Being in the Cycles - Spring Tides - Finding balance within the context of extremes.
This Sunday evening I am teaching a yoga workshop on the theme of balance, and you can join me via zoom.
5 mins of yoga by the sea.
Are you or a friend expecting a summer baby?
How are you feeling about the new roadmap?
Wintry wanders from the front door.
A view from our wintry wander this afternoon - snow on Hedgehope and the Cheviot behind.
Since we can’t host any yoga retreats or Airbnb guests at the moment we thought we’d treat ourselves to a little holiday of our own in the guest bedrooms.
Getting caught out by an extra high spring tide the other week gave me the idea that 'balance' exists only within the context of extremes.
“...when tired at last, he sat on the bank, while the river still chattered on to him, a babbling procession of the best stories in the world, sent from the heart of the earth to be told at last to the insatiable sea.”
Walking in the labyrinth reminds me that life does not always unfold in a straight line.
"Ānanda is the joy of being close to the source within us."
One of my big lockdown projects last year was to organise all my pregnancy and postnatal yoga resources and they are now quite obvious on the website (I think!) This includes free articles, videos and guided relaxations. There is lots to get started with at home as well as the option to join 'live' classes.
Imbolc - a time of hope.
My Sunday night online yoga workshops are back this weekend on the theme of 'Being in the Cycles'.
Alone time at the beach - all icy and sparkling ✨
Feet up, head down, heart open.
WALL STRETCH and LADDER POSE - for pregnancy, birth and beyond.
Found myself a giant baby to play with - sound on to hear the giggles!
My recommended pose for working with the pelvic floor aka diamond.
Mothering is Hard Work.
Are you or a friend expecting a summer baby?
Do you have a new baby under four months old?
Parenting in a pandemic - a word cloud created by the women in our online yoga and support groups.
This is my sweet little girl walking in the snow labyrinth we made at the new moon (and for some the new year). I sped her up a bit in the video hence the funny walk!
